Even though this menu item is seasonal, it gave way to several other pumpkin-inspired drinks like the salted caramel macchiato, and vegan caramel macchiato. It’s even sparked a few caramel macchiato vs latte debates. However, there are loads of drinks similar to a caramel macchiato, like the caramel pumpkin macchiato, its seasonal cousin, that has also garnered its own following. In fact, with the advent of the internet, multiple recipes for just about anything have become widely available. So, here we are with a recipe that’ll give you the info on how to make your own caramel macchiato. Pumpkin Macchiato Recipe Making a Caramel Pumpkin Macchiato Making your own caramel pumpkin macchiato is super exciting, and can be very rewarding. Using all the right ingredients makes it so worth it - sugar, spice, and everything nice, right? Luckily, making a caramel pumpkin macchiato is pretty much the same as the caramel macchiato but with an extra step or two. Ingredients Just like any other macchiato you’re going to need espresso; the glorious source that provides us with all our energy and productivity. For this recipe, you’ll need 4 shots of espresso. You can use regular old coffee, or you can use the organic pumpkin spice coffee from Lifeboost which is a lot more health conscience than the average brand. If you have a soft spot for the caramel side of the macchiato then we’d suggest you go with the Caramel Macchiato beans. For dairy, the recipe needs about 2 cups of vanilla ripple but the recipe is flexible, so you can use any kind of milk that you’d prefer. To get those awesome flavors in your macchiato, you’ll need a tablespoon of caramel sauce and pumpkin purée. A tablespoon of water, and one or two tablespoons of either sugar or maple syrup. You can always swap the water with the maple syrup if you want to. Finally, a teaspoon of vanilla extract, and half a teaspoon of pumpkin spice. Now we’re ready to put ‘em all together. Mixing Instructions Pumpkin Spice Syrup: In a mixing bowl that’s microwave-safe, combine the ingredients for the pumpkin syrup; the pumpkin purée, pumpkin spice, water, sugar, or maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Heat It: Put the mix into the microwave for 30 seconds, stir it, and put it back in for another 30 seconds. It should be dissolved and smooth, definitely not thick. Add To Cup: Pour half of the pumpkin syrup and ½ tablespoon of caramel sauce into the bottom of your coffee mug. Prep The Milk: Froth and heat the milk to add to your mug. You can use any method to froth the milk. For example, you could use a milk steamer or frother, or whisk the milk in a saucepan over low heat until the milk gains loads of volume and air bubbles. Espresso: Fill the mug until it’s almost full with milk and then pour in the espresso. Finishing Touch: Now, simply drizzle some caramel sauce on top, and then you’re set and ready to enjoy. Conclusion We’re stoked to try out this recipe ourselves, too. No more stopping at a coffee shop on the way to work or leaving our house just to shell out a few dollars. Recipes like this make it so much more fun to be at home, especially in the cool and windy seasonal weather that approaches. Did you find our blog helpful?
