The healthiest caramel macchiato is one that you’ve made yourself, as you can control what is inside of it. 

There are ways to order healthy caramel macchiatos, too, but we recommend making your own and using our caramel macchiato beans to make it as healthy as possible.

Skinny Caramel Macchiato

To make a skinny caramel macchiato, you will need some of our caramel macchiato beans or ground coffee. 

Add the ground coffee into a filter or the beans into a coffee machine. Fill up ¾ of a cup with this coffee. 

Add in a ¼ cup of foamed milk of your choice. We recommend using fat-free milk, or plant-based milk that is low in calories, to keep it skinny and healthy.

Making Your Caramel Macchiato Sweeter Without The Calories

For some people, the above recipe might not be sweet enough, despite the sweetness added from the caramel and vanilla essential oils.

If this is the case for you, and you are wondering how to make caramel macchiato sweeter but still keep it healthy, then there are a few things you could add.

Firstly, try and avoid sugar. You can mix in a non-nutritious sweetener, xylitol, erythritol, sugar-free caramel syrup, or sugar-free vanilla syrup. 

Any one of these will still keep you caramel macchiato healthy and low in calories but will give it a little bit more sweetness too.

Healthy Cold Caramel Macchiato

There are two different types of cold macchiatos. Either, you can make a healthy frozen caramel macchiato, or you can make an iced caramel macchiato. 

The difference between the two is that an iced macchiato just has ice cubes added to it, whereas a frozen macchiato is blended with ice cubes. 

To make a healthy iced caramel macchiato, follow the steps explained in the first recipe above, wait for it to cool a bit, and simply add a lot of ice cubes to it. Some people also prefer more milk, so you can add ½ a cup instead of a ¼ cup of milk if this is your preference. 

To make a healthy frozen caramel macchiato, you will also use the first recipe, except you will add a ¼ cup of caramel macchiato, ¾ of a cup of milk, and ice cubes to a blender. 

Blend the mixture until all the ice cubes have been blended up and you have a thick, smooth frozen macchiato.

Healthy Caramel Macchiato “Ice Cream”

Yes, you read correctly - we are going to give you a recipe for a healthy version of caramel macchiato ice cream

To make this healthy ice cream, you are first going to need to make an espresso shot of black caramel macchiato. To do this, simply use a coffee filter to mix the caramel macchiato ground beans and hot water, or use the beans in a coffee machine.

Wait for this to cool slightly. Then, add two frozen bananas, a dash of milk, and the caramel macchiato espresso shot to a blender and mix until smooth. 

You can either eat it straight away if it is thick enough or if you prefer it a bit thicker, decant it and put it in the freezer for an hour or two.

You can also make it sweeter if you would like. Again, to keep it healthy, try adding a sweetener, sugar-free caramel syrup, or honey. 

Caramel Macchiato Overnight Oats

These caramel macchiato overnight oats are so tasty that you’ll think you’re eating dessert for breakfast. And, the best part about it, is that it is completely healthy.

To make these overnight oats you are going to need the following:

  • 1 ⅓ cups of brewed caramel macchiato
  • 2 cups of oats
  • 1 ⅓ cups of milk (low-fat dairy milk or almond milk)
  • 1 tablespoon of sweetener, xylitol, erythritol, or honey
  • 3 tablespoons of chia seeds
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla essence
  • ¼ teaspoon of salt

Once you have all the ingredients, mix them all together in a big bowl. Cover the bowl and place it in the fridge overnight. 

In the morning, it will be ready to enjoy as a decedent, but still healthy, meal.

Are Caramel Macchiatos Keto Friendly?

While a macchiato is traditionally known to be combined with foamed milk, you can make a keto caramel macchiato if you drink it black, or if you don’t use dairy milk. 

Using plant-based milk such as almond milk, coconut milk, or soy milk will make it keto-friendly.

It is also important that you don’t add in any sugar or honey, as these aren’t keto-friendly. If you do want it sweeter, rather try to add a sweetener such as xylitol, erythritol, or stevia. 

How Do I Order A Caramel Macchiato At A Coffee Shop And Make It Healthy?

There are three main things that you can do to make your store-bought caramel macchiato healthy.
