What This Article Covers:

What Is It?

cold brew organic coffee

Organic iced coffee is similar to the original drink, but it’s made with the best organic coffee beans instead of conventionally grown ones. It’s just as rich and creamy as the original.

The drink is made with a cooled-down espresso concentrate as the base. This version of the drink is made specifically with organic beans, as these offer the potential health benefits of organic coffee

The coffee is mixed with your choice of milk and ice cubes to make your drink cool and refreshing.

If you want your drink to be flavored, you can add caramel or vanilla syrup.

What Beans Should I Use?

The benefits of organic coffee aren’t widely known by consumers and scientists. Most people think they’re the same as regular beans, but for coffee beans (or any crop) to be certified as organic, they must follow a strict set of rules as set out by the USDA.

These rules determine which products the farmers can use as fertilizers and insect sprays.

Can I Make Organic Iced Coffee at Home?

Making an organic iced coffee at home is often better than buying one at your local coffee shop. You can make the drink exactly how you like it.

We’re going to take you through how to make the drink.

The first step is making cold brew concentrate with your organic espresso coffee beans. It’s not difficult, but you’ll need to do it the night before so it has time to brew properly.

First, grind your coffee beans. We recommend these organic light roast coffee beans

You’ll need 6 ounces of coffee grounds, to which you’ll add 3 ½ cups of water. Let this brew overnight, and then use a piece of cheesecloth to strain it.

Now that you have your cold brew concentrate, you’ll need to gather these things to assemble your drink:

  • Your favorite glass
  • About two handfuls of ice cubes
  • Caramel or vanilla syrup, if you want a flavored drink
  • Your favorite milk or milk substitute (we recommend something creamy and full-fat)
  • Your cold brew concentrate

Now the fun begins.

  • Fill your glass to the brim with ice cubes
  • Pour in your cold brew concentrate. We recommend filling your glass halfway, but you can adjust this based on how strong you’d like your drink to be.
  • If you’re opting to add flavored syrup, pour this in now
  • Fill the rest of your glass with your milk of choice
  • Stir, and enjoy.
