Meet Dr. Ellen Millard - Naturopathic Medical Doctor And Lifeboost Coffee Ambassador Of Health
Have you ever heard the saying “if/when the stars align?”
I’ve always heard this phrase amidst descriptions of events that take place seemingly by the hand of fate, events which have a positive impact, but seem as if all the right things lined up for such a situation to occur.
Well, whether or not the stars actually align to allow a perfect match-up or situation to take place is something we may not be entirely sure of, but what I do know for certain is that powerfully positive things can happen when passions align!
Here at Lifeboost we’re passionate about health, and we’re passionate about coffee.
The alignment of these two passions has fueled our desire to do things differently when it comes to growing coffee.
This passion has led us to sustainably grow our organic coffee on small, family owned, coffee plantations where chemicals are never used, and biodiversity is enhanced.
Our coffee is therefore nutrient-dense, never exposed to chemicals, and completely mold and toxin-free.
We even go the extra mile, having every batch of coffee third party tested for mold, heavy metals, mycotoxins, and 450+ other toxins to ensure our java is always clean, pure, tasty, and never compromising the health of our customers.
Enter Dr. Ellen Millard…
Dr. Millard has seen first hand the effects of toxicity on patient health and wellness. And, she’s also seen the powerful benefits of detoxification on chronic disease, etc.
Taking this one step further, Dr. Millard also loves coffee! And, she knows her patients love coffee.
Can you see where our passions are aligning?
Dr. Millard’s focus on toxicology and environmental detoxification in her naturopathic and functional medicine practice aligns perfectly with our focus on personal health and our drive to grow, process, roast, and bring the healthiest, toxin-free cup of coffee possible to our customers and the world.
Not only is Dr. Millard comfortable consuming Lifeboost Coffee personally, she’s also one of our health ambassadors, which means she can confidently and safely recommend our clean, healthy coffee to her patients as well.
So, let’s take some time to get to know Dr. Millard a bit more, catching a glimpse into how she’s using her passions to improve the health of her patients and her community, as well as how she incorporates Lifeboost into her personal routines for optimal health.

Dr. Ellen Millard - Putting Passion Into Practice
Most people have things in their life they are passionate about, but few people truly live their lives in light of those passions.
Dr. Ellen Millard, however, well…she’s not one of the ‘few.’
Dr. Millard is a licensed and board certified Naturopathic Medical Doctor.
She grew up in a family and community where healthy, active lifestyles were prioritized, exemplified, and enjoyed, which in turn allowed her to daily witness the strong correlation between lifestyle and individual health and vitality.
These beginnings not only set her on a path of personal commitment to health and wellness but one which would also positively impact the lives of so many others as she daily lives out her passions.
“Growing up in the very active community of Vail, Colorado, I learned about the importance of movement and health from a young age. I saw people living vital, healthy lifestyles that allowed them to thrive well into their 80’s and beyond with good physical and emotional health.”
Even now, as her 95-year-old grandpa still enjoys an active lifestyle, skiing the slopes of Vail, she is inspired to continue living out her passion of prioritizing health in her own life and in the lives of her patients.
Within her medical practice, Dr. Millard focuses on treating the whole person, preventing disease by working with the body’s natural ability to heal.
The expertise she brings to her patients blends centuries’ old knowledge and trusted natural, non-toxic therapies with current scientific knowledge to provide family and primary care for all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics, regarding all aspects of health.
This approach and focus allow her to treat everything from chronic disease to mental and emotional health, gastrointestinal issues, cancer, endocrine related concerns, women’s health, food allergies/sensitivities, to one of her primary focuses - environmental toxicology and detoxification.
Throughout her years of study and experience, Dr. Millard has seen the incredible impact toxin exposure can have on the human body - “When our bodies are overburdened with the daily toxins from our current world, it makes it really difficult to heal from any disease in the body.”
Likewise, Millard has seen the power in removing such toxins from the body and reducing one’s exposure to these health hazards - “Once we remove the toxins and reduce exposures, our innate capacity to heal is activated.”
In fact, throughout her years of study and residency, Millard has witnessed, firsthand, chronic disease reversal in a matter of mere weeks when detoxification measures were implemented.
She has, of course, successfully recommended and implemented similar measures with her own patients, with an emphasis on…
- reducing carcinogens for cancer prevention
- educating patients on endocrine disrupting chemicals/toxins which can lead to infertility, hormone dysregulation, and cancer
- providing access to glutathione supplementation to support healthy detoxification processes
Dr. Millard has even extended her passion concerning the importance of healthy detoxification beyond her personal practice and into her community where she works each month with a non-profit supporting local firefighters.
“Being in the heart of Sonoma County in California, we work directly with firefighters to detox them as fast as we can after fire exposures. We want to prevent the carcinogens from causing further damage to the tissues in the body. Thus, our clinic works with IHANES, a non-profit, to go to base camps during big fires to administer nebulized and IV glutathione as detox support.”
Like any medical professional, aside from community involvement and caring for her patients, Dr. Millard also makes time for continuing education to keep up with the latest health trends and research.
She does this by attending 3-4 naturopathic and functional medicine conferences annually, on top of her personal dedication to keep current on published research and data (specifically regarding topics she routinely sees in her office).
Dr. Millard’s commitment to patient wellness, seeking optimal vitality for each individual in her care, is a living rebuttal to the common misconception surrounding naturopathic medicine, namely that such doctors “do not use evidence-based medicine or [that they] are not certified as doctors.”
The truth is - naturopathic doctors require a bachelor’s degree, a four-year degree from an accredited naturopathic medical school, clinical training, passing licensing exams, and ongoing education to maintain such a license.
Then, as we’ve already highlighted in Dr. Millard’s approach to patient care, such physicians not only incorporate evidence-based practices, but go a step above to blend traditional naturopathic therapies with modern scientific research.
And, as many of you know, this connection between lifestyle and overall wellness is something many are awakening to, which could mean exciting news for the years ahead in the field of natural or functional medicine.
Dr. Millard has explained that she’s most excited about future trends and advancements in this field regarding both research on how a reduction of mycotoxins can improve health outcomes as well as the way AI is expected to contribute to advancements all across the field of medicine.
When Passions Align
As we highlighted in our introduction today, Dr. Millard’s passions within her medical practice, namely her focus on the effects of toxins on the human body, greatly align with our passion to produce clean, healthy, toxin-free coffee.
And, like Dr. Millard, we too recognize the harmful effects toxins can have on our overall health and wellness.
We also, each, know the following:
- Coffee can be incredibly healthy, one of the best sources of antioxidants to be exact.
- But, coffee is also commonly a source of mold, mycotoxins, other chemicals, heavy metals, and more - each of which can greatly hinder health.
This is why a commitment to keeping chemicals like pesticides, fertilizers, and more out of the coffee growing process is imperative when it comes to health…a standard for Lifeboost Coffee.
This is why growing organic coffee at high elevations, in the shade, amongst native plant and animal life (for optimal nutrition) is imperative when it comes to health…a standard for Lifeboost Coffee.
This is why third party testing coffee for mold, mycotoxins, heavy metals, and 450+ other toxins is imperative when it comes to health…a standard for Lifeboost Coffee.
And, it is our commitment to each of these things that aligns us with Dr. Millard.
In fact, our passions so powerfully align with Millard’s, they might as well be our own - She states, “[Coffee] is one of the most popular drinks that people consume daily. Thus, if we are putting something into our bodies every day, we better make sure it is as clean and nutritious as possible.”
We couldn’t agree more!
And, it’s our alignment surrounding this passion that makes Lifeboost a perfect match for Dr. Millard and Dr. Millard a perfect match for Lifeboost.
She also explained to us that the majority of her patients have mold or heavy metal toxicity, and as one of our ambassadors of health, she can confidently recommend Lifeboost Coffee to her patients as part of a healthy, toxin-free, nutrition plan.
Of course, she doesn’t just recommend our toxin-free, clean coffee to her patients, she also daily enjoys Lifeboost as a part of her own healthy lifestyle.
Mornings With Dr. Millard
Dr. Millard’s morning routine is inspiring as she begins each day slowly, with intention…and Lifeboost Coffee.
First, she incorporates at least 10 minutes of guided meditation, followed by some warm, heart health-boosting, immune system-enhancing, stress-reducing, calming snuggles from her sweet cat.
Then, she engages in 20 minutes of stretching, obtaining further body benefits prior to enjoying her daily cup of Lifeboost Coffee alongside a big breakfast.
Dr. Millard’s favorite Lifeboost selection is our dark roast, but she also seasonally enjoys our Pumpkin Spice Coffee.
Then, to enhance the flavors in each of these brews, she enjoys making her own homemade macadamia nut milk to use as a healthy add-in.
Her morning routine and daily coffee enjoyment ritual just make you want to pull up a chair and enjoy a cup with her!
Just kidding…we wouldn’t want to invade someone’s perfect way to start their day, however…
Should you have the opportunity to spend a few moments with Dr. Millard, you would likely hear her most frequently given advice for her patients and followers, words just as important and inspiring as her morning routine:
“The most important thing you can do for longevity and health is - daily movement and reduce toxin exposure.”
“Spend time in nature daily, even if it is a few minutes.”
“Do what you love, life is short.”
