WHY GRATA MEDIUM ROAST
KEEPS PEOPLE COMING BACK.
A truly great everyday coffee has to earn its place in your morning again and again. Ours does it by getting the fundamentals right: every bean, every batch, every cup.
Full-bodied, round, and smooth from first sip to last. Creamy and nutty with a soft dried-fruit note, reminiscent of a chocolate-covered fig. No harsh edges, no bitterness, nothing to mask. Just a beautifully balanced cup you'll happily drink black, with cream, or over ice.
Because our beans are grown slowly at altitude, the smoothness is built in, not chemically stripped out. That's what makes this roast easy on sensitive stomachs and teeth, and why so many people who thought they'd "quit coffee" make this their daily cup.
Every bag is 100% single-origin specialty Arabica: one clean bean profile, never blended with cheaper filler beans. One origin means one consistent, traceable, clean profile in every cup, batch after batch.
We run full third-party TrustPure™ testing on the coffee you actually drink: 450+ pesticides, mycotoxins, and heavy metals screened. When the results are this good, we're happy to make them the reason you trust us. See lab test results →

GRATA VS. TYPICAL
GROCERY-STORE COFFEE.
Most supermarket coffee is roasted in bulk, blended from several origins and shipped to sit on a shelf. Here's how that compares with what lands in your cup from Lifeboost.

ROAST FAQ
Still have a question? Our Customer Care team is here to help at 1-800-479-1596.
Yes. Our single-origin Arabica is grown slowly at 5,700+ feet, which naturally produces a smoother, lower-acid bean. That's why so many people who'd given up coffee for their stomach come back to it with this roast.
Smooth and full-bodied, with creamy, nutty warmth, a whisper of dried fruit and no bitter finish. It's forgiving in any brewer, from drip to pour-over to press.
Yes. Grata is USDA-certified organic and non-GMO: a single pure ingredient, shade-grown under native trees with no synthetic pesticides.
Yes. Grata is third-party tested through Light Labs, an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited lab, for mycotoxins, pesticides and other potential contaminants. See the latest results on our testing page.
It's a balanced medium: full-bodied and smooth rather than sharp or intense. Plenty of depth for black-coffee drinkers, without the bitterness that makes you reach for sugar.
Anyone who wants a smooth, clean everyday cup, especially people who find regular coffee harsh and want something naturally lower in acid.
In Nicaragua, on a single farm. Every bag traces back to the same growers, which keeps the flavor consistent from bag to bag.
Yes. All of our coffee comes from the same farm: 100% specialty Arabica, never blended with cheaper filler beans.
At least 5,700 feet. Beans that mature slowly at altitude grow denser, with more sweetness and naturally lower acidity.
The coffee grows under a canopy of native trees instead of on land cleared for full sun. The shade slows ripening for a sweeter bean, protects the soil, and gives birds and wildlife a home, so fewer chemicals are needed to farm it.
We roast your coffee after you order, then pack and ship it fresh. Freshly roasted coffee is still releasing CO2, so for the fullest flavor let the beans rest about 7 days after the roast date before brewing.
Because it's roasted to order. Fresh coffee releases CO2, so the bag uses a one-way valve that lets gas out without letting air in. A vacuum seal would puff up or burst.
Yes. Coffee is naturally gluten-free, and that includes all of our flavored coffees. Nothing in our process introduces gluten.
It's forgiving in any brewer. Start with a medium grind for drip and pour-over (coarser for French press, fine for espresso), a ratio of about 1:16 (roughly 2 tablespoons, or 10–12 g, of coffee per 6 oz of water) and water at 195–205°F. Pour-over shows off the sweet, nutty notes best.
Yes. Our step-by-step guide covers drip, pour-over, French press and espresso. Download the brewing guide →
Yes, if they're vacuum-sealed or in an airtight container. Frozen beans keep their flavor for a long time; thaw them for about an hour before opening so moisture doesn't condense on the beans.
No. Coffee absorbs odors and moisture in the fridge. Store it in the resealable bag in a cool, dark cupboard instead.
